How to setup multiple versions of MS-DOS and IBM PC-DOS on one system using V-Com System Commander 8.1
Versions used:
- MS-DOS 5.0 [C:\MSDOS.5]
- MS-DOS 6.22 [C:\MSDOS.622]
- PC-DOS 6.30 [C:\PCDOS.630]
- PC-DOS 2000 [C:\PCDOS.2K]
- Novell DR-DOS 7.0 [C:\NWDOS.700]
- Caldera DR-DOS 7.0.3 [C:\DRDOS.703]
- IBM OS/2 Warp 3 [D:\OS2]
- Windows 1.04 [C:\WIN104]
- Windows 2.11 [C:\WIN211]
- Windows 3.0a [C:\WIN300]
- Windows 3.1 [C:\WIN31]
- Windows 3.11 [C:\WIN311]
- Windows for Workgroups 3.11 [C:\WFW311]
- Windows NT 3.1 CD Version [C:\NT31]
- Windows NT 3.51 CD Version [C:\NT351]
Hard Disk Setup:
- 2GB RAW Disk
- Primary Partition 1 - 1000MB [DOS] (also Win 1.x - 3.11, NT)
- Primary Partition 2 - 510MB [OS2]
Notes:
- MS-DOS 4.01 wouldn't boot
- DR-DOS 8.0 wouldn't boot
- In VM, NT31 did not auto-convert to NTFS, and then broke when NT351 did it. Worked on physical.
- NT requires a dummy BIOS drive C to function. XTIDE still takes over and provides the correct drive specifics. Must be Normal and not LBA.
- BIOS drive C set to LBA mode corrupts partition table when using System Commander
- System Commander can't deal with NT3.1 + NT3.51 multiboot when converted to NTFS.
Installation Order:
